If you have questions or your in person/virtual status changes, please contact the Eighth Period Office by emailing lslonina@fcps.edu and acdelgado1@fcps.edu.
The steps that you need to take to sign up for eighth periods on Ion have not changed in a hybrid environment. In fact, the only difference you will see is that either (Virtual)
or (In-Person)
will be listed next to each block letter according to your status. You should sign up for these blocks as you would any other block. Keep in mind that (In-Person)
blocks will have a much lower capacity than you might be accustomed to, so sign up early.
In order to correctly sign you up for either (Virtual)
or (In-Person)
blocks, Ion has you assigned to a group. However, if for any reason your status changes (e.g. you were in person on Tuesday/Wednesday and now you are in person on Thursday/Friday, or you were in person and you are now virtual even if it is only for a limited period of time), you must notify the Eighth Period Office. If you fail to do so, you won't be able to sign up for the correct block and you will probably be marked absent.
Email both lslonina@fcps.edu and acdelgado1@fcps.edu.
Nothing has really changed except that YOU are responsible for notifying the Eighth Period Office if your status changes. In fact, the sole purpose of this guide is to convince you that you need to notify the Eighth Period Office.
You should notify the Eighth Period Office.
This is not a valid reason to get switched into a virtual eighth period block for the day. If you're absent, it will be treated just like you were absent from school in a normal year.
Me too, but sorry, I don't make the rules. Go to your eighth period.
Magic.
